Mentoring Accredited Membership Requirements

The description below  outlines the key requirements, inclusive of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) hours, for each mentoring level. The progression from Accredited Mentor Practitioner to Accredited Mentoring Fellow involves an increasing number of practical mentoring hours and associated CPD activities.

Accredited Mentor Practitioner

Requirements:

  • Complete a minimum of 60 hours of training in mentoring theory and practise.
  • Accumulate a minimum of 80 hours of practical mentoring experience.
  • Adhere to the code of ethics and professional standards set out by our mentoring organisation.

CPD Requirements:

  • Completion of 15 hours of CPD activities annually, inclusive of seminars, workshops, webinars, reading relevant materials, and peer supervision sessions.
  • Evidence of learning and its application to mentoring practise must be documented and submitted for review annually.

Accredited Advanced Mentor Practitioner

Requirements:

  • Complete a minimum of 120 hours of advanced level mentoring training.
  • Accumulate a minimum of 700 hours of practical mentoring experience.
  • Uphold the code of ethics and professional standards set out by our mentoring organisation.

CPD Requirements:

  • Completion of 25 hours of CPD activities annually, which may include advanced mentoring techniques training, attending industry conferences, and participation in research and publication in the field.
  • Provide evidence of learning and its application to mentoring practise for the annual review.

Accredited Master Mentor Practitioner

Requirements:

  • Complete a minimum of 120 hours of master's-level mentoring training.
  • Accumulate a minimum of 1,000 hours of practical mentoring experience.
  • Adhere strictly to the code of ethics and professional standards set out by our mentoring organisation.

CPD Requirements:

  • Completion of 35 hours of CPD activities annually, which may include participation in leadership seminars, developing mentoring materials, training other mentors, or conducting original research in the field.
  • Demonstrate and document the impact of CPD on mentoring practise and submit it for an annual review.

Accredited Mentoring Fellow

Requirements:

  • Complete a minimum of 120 hours of fellow level mentoring training.
  • Accumulate a minimum of 2,000 hours of practical mentoring experience.
  • Uphold the highest standards of the code of ethics and professional conduct as set out by our mentoring organisation.

CPD Requirements:

  • Completion of 45 hours of CPD activities annually, including advanced leadership training, contributions to professional mentoring publications, keynote speaking at mentoring conferences, or leading significant projects in the mentoring field.
  • Provide robust evidence of the influence and application of CPD on their mentoring practise and contribute to the development of the profession.

These levels and requirements ensure a clear progression path for mentors in our organisation, from practitioner to fellow level. Each level requires commitment, ethical practise, and continuous learning to ensure excellence in service delivery to clients and contributions to the mentoring profession.
