Professional Standards & Accountability

External Recognition & Professional Accountability

IGH3P® recognises established professional standards and independent accountability mechanisms that support ethical, competent and responsible practice across coaching, mentoring and related professional disciplines.

Professional Standards Extend Beyond Recognition

Professional credibility depends not only on qualifications or professional recognition, but also on clear ethical standards, competent practice and meaningful accountability. IGH3P® therefore recognises external standards and independent mechanisms that contribute to the integrity of the coaching and mentoring professions.

IRCM CIC Standards & Independent Ombudsman

IGH3P® formally recognises the International Regulator of Coaching and Mentoring CIC (IRCM CIC) Code of Ethics and Coaching Competencies. IGH3P® also acknowledges the role and authority of the independent Coaching and Mentoring Ombudsman in supporting professional accountability within coaching and mentoring.

Recognition of the Code of Ethics & Coaching Competencies

IGH3P® recognises the importance of clear professional standards in supporting consistent, ethical and responsible coaching and mentoring practice. The IRCM CIC framework addresses principles that are fundamental to professional conduct and competence.

Acting responsibly and maintaining standards of behaviour appropriate to professional practice.

E

Treating individuals fairly and respectfully without inappropriate discrimination or exclusion.

D

Recognising professional responsibilities towards clients and those affected by professional practice.

C

Respecting privacy and handling confidential information responsibly within appropriate professional boundaries.

Practising with honesty and maintaining conduct that supports professional trust and credibility.

A

Accepting responsibility for professional decisions, conduct and the standards expected of professional practitioners.

Supporting Ethical & Competent Professionals

IGH3P® encourages its members and recognised professionals to understand and apply the principles of ethical conduct, competence, transparency, honesty and accountability within their professional practice.

Recognition of external professional standards complements IGH3P®'s own ethical and professional frameworks. It supports a wider culture in which professional standards are understood not simply as requirements for gaining recognition, but as continuing responsibilities throughout professional practice.

IGH3P® also supports continuing professional development as an important means of maintaining awareness of professional standards and strengthening competent, responsible practice.

Independent Accountability

Recognition of the Coaching & Mentoring Ombudsman

IGH3P® recognises the role of the independent Coaching and Mentoring Ombudsman in supporting standards and accountability within the coaching and mentoring professions.

The Ombudsman provides an independent mechanism for addressing complaints and disputes relating to professional conduct within coaching and mentoring. This contributes to transparency, fairness and accountability within the profession.

IGH3P® encourages relevant members and professionals to recognise the Ombudsman's role and to engage with the appropriate independent process where necessary.

Independence matters. Recognition of an independent accountability mechanism supports confidence that professional concerns can be considered outside the direct practitioner-client relationship and through an appropriate professional process.

Standards, Trust & Accountability

External standards and independent accountability strengthen the professional framework within which coaches, mentors and other professionals operate. For IGH3P®, this recognition reflects a wider commitment to meaningful professional standards rather than recognition in isolation.

For Professionals

Clear standards provide a framework for ethical decision-making, responsible conduct and continued professional development.

For Clients

Professional standards and accountability mechanisms help support confidence in the conduct expected of recognised professionals.

For the Profession

Shared expectations of ethics, competence and accountability contribute to greater consistency, credibility and professional integrity.

Our Commitment

Recognition Supported by Responsibility

By recognising the IRCM CIC Code of Ethics and Coaching Competencies and the role of the independent Coaching and Mentoring Ombudsman, IGH3P® reinforces its commitment to ethical conduct, professional competence, transparency and accountability across the professional community it serves.
