Mentoring Accreditation & Certification
Professional recognition for mentors at every stage of development — from Practitioner to Fellow — through IGH3P® Certification and Accreditation pathways.
Recognition That Reflects Your Experience
Professional mentoring requires more than experience alone. Effective mentors combine appropriate education, practical mentoring experience, ethical responsibility, professional judgement and continuing development.
IGH3P® provides progressive Certification and Accreditation pathways for mentors who wish to have their professional training and experience formally recognised.
Four levels provide a clear progression from Practitioner through Advanced and Master level to Mentoring Fellow, allowing applicants to select the recognition appropriate to their training and practical mentoring experience.
Certification or Accreditation?
Both pathways recognise professional development in mentoring, but they represent different levels of evaluation, experience and professional recognition.
Professional Certification
Certification recognises that a mentor has completed relevant professional education and accumulated practical mentoring experience appropriate to the certification level sought. It provides a structured pathway for mentors seeking formal recognition of their training, skills and developing professional practice.
Professional Accreditation
Accreditation provides a more comprehensive level of professional recognition, reflecting substantial practical mentoring experience alongside relevant training, ethical practice, continuing professional development and professional responsibility.
Four Levels of Mentoring Recognition
Each pathway progresses with increasing professional education, practical mentoring experience, continuing development and contribution to professional practice.
Practitioner
For mentors who have developed foundational professional mentoring knowledge and practical experience and are establishing their professional practice.
Advanced
For experienced mentors who have developed advanced mentoring capability and accumulated substantial practical mentoring experience.
Master
For highly experienced mentors demonstrating established professional expertise, advanced practice and significant mentoring experience.
Fellow
The highest mentoring recognition level, reflecting extensive professional experience, advanced practice and contribution to the mentoring profession.

Professional Recognition Carries Responsibility
Training and mentoring hours form part of the recognition criteria, but professional mentoring also requires ethical conduct, continuing development, appropriate professional boundaries and accountability.
Applicants should be prepared to provide appropriate evidence of their education, practical mentoring experience and professional standing as part of the review process.
Maintaining Professional Mentoring Recognition
Professional recognition carries an ongoing expectation of development. Mentors should continue building their professional knowledge, competence and reflective practice throughout their career.
